first blog post !
Hello, friends! I am so happy to welcome you to my first blog post! Since it is my first post, this will probably be one of the shortest posts I make. Before the questions roll in, I wanted to take a moment to share the significance behind the chosen name for my blog – “honey and salt”.
Writing has been a passion the Lord planted in my heart since childhood, and around this past February, I felt a divine calling to share reflections on the Lord’s goodness and my personal takeaways from daily Bible readings. After months of prayer and cultivating, here we are!
The inspiration for the blog’s name came to me while watching an episode of The Chosen. Jesus explained Matthew 5:13, referring to his followers as the “salt of the earth”. He went on to mention the unique healing properties that come when salt is mixed with honey.
Flashing back for a moment, I first encountered the Lord’s presence at a youth church camp when I was 17. A pastor prophesied over me that I am a healer, destined to bring healing to those in need. Interestingly, I am currently pursuing a career in pharmacy. The alignment between my calling as a healer and my future career in the field of healing made “honey and salt” the perfect choice for my blog name.
As we explore together the depths of faith, healing, and purpose, I’m eager to share more insights, reflections, and personal stories. I also have a “Contact” link located on the home screen for any blog post requests, prayer requests, comments, questions, etc.!
